Our carrot patties are a tasty lacto-ovo-vegetarian alternative to the classic hamburger. Serve the carrot burger in hamburger buns together with feta cheese cream and sliced avocado.
Ingredients
Pull out and measure what you need before you start cooking.
- 3/4 dl mixed seeds (e.g. sunflower and pumpkin seeds)
- 500 g carrots
- 2 green onions
- 1 egg
- 1 dl wheat flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 crm black pepper
- about 4 tablespoons rapeseed oil (for frying)
- 2 packs of feta cheese (each 150 g)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh oregano
- 1/4 grated garlic clove
- 1/2 dl olive oil
- 1 pot of basil
- 2 avocados
- 8 hamburger buns

Toast the seeds in a dry, hot frying pan until they take on a little colour.

Peel and coarsely grate the carrots.

Squeeze out all the liquid and place in a bowl.

Thinly slice the green onions.

Mix the green onions, seeds, eggs, wheat flour, salt and pepper in the bowl.

Leave in the fridge for 10 minutes.

Feta cheese cream: Mix all the ingredients to a smooth cream in a food processor or with a stick blender.

Shape 8 burgers from the carrot batter (for 4 port).

Heat a frying pan with oil and fry the burgers in two batches for approx. 1 ½–2 min on each side until they have colored and become crispy.

To serve: Core and slice the avocado.

Serve the burgers in the bread with the feta cream and avocado.
